The Depressing Duo

Agree with all but the last bit, Moshiri is not in a position to blame anyone. It's his show now.

I agree completely, this summer and beyond are 100% on Moshiri. Obviously we all hope we have a good summer and that we are giving credit rather than criticism. I do think though that if things go badly, there will be a bit of blood on the floor. A lot of the gloss surrounding Moshiri will disappear if that's the case.

Whilst that would be utterly depressing, I think there would be a high possibility that he would attempt to use his ready-made Jim White channel in an attempt to deflect blame. Kenwiright can serve as a useful scapegoat if I was looking at it cynically.

... @The Esk said Bill and Ben (Elstone) are more hindrance than help in transfer negotiations and I understand they are a very frustrating duo to work with. My information is that the process would work much better without Bill in particular.

Well that would be counter to what a lot of players have generally said about Bill... Cahill, Howard, more recently Coleman et al, have given glowing references to his influence. How many other club's players do you hear praising the Chairman - hardly sounds frustrating to work with???

He may not be the world's greatest businessman or negotiator, but I guarantee there have been transfers where his passion has persuaded a player to join us rather than another team. That's not his job anyway... and that's what we now have a Director of Football for.

So @The Esk said? How long has he been privy to what goes on in the Everton boardroom? Bill runs a highly successful entertainment business as well as being Chairman, so has vast experience, and doesn't deserve all the vitriol he gets. Elstone on the other hand.....

Get that Alexander Ryazantsev to sort the deals, he sounds like he knows what he's doing and comes with the benefit of looking like he would murder you if you didn't sign the contract.
Are players allowed to negotiate? Besic would be quite the addition to the team if we needed potentially psychotic Bosnian muscle.

Elstone on the other hand has forged a successful career for himself, hes currently got a very well paid job at a major Premier League football club, where he has negotiated multi-million pound record commercial deals.

WBU?

How would the Esk know ?.......

In a good way. Will definitely get folk talking which is the point mate.

I don't know the ins and outs of who does what with transfers and that so can't really comment but will enjoy reading.

This is kind of my problem with threads like this. We don't know the inner workings of transfers or other deals at Everton but people are more than happy to make guesses and place blame without knowing the facts. Kenwright is still involved but I highly doubt he has as much influence right now as some seem to think. I believe that Moshiri truly wants Everton to improve and there's been enough positive changes in the past year that I'm willing to give him some leeway. If he thinks Kenwright and Elstone can help, I'm okay with that for now.

I believe Moshiri has the right intentions too. Not based on anything though. More hope than anything.

I just can't bring myself to trust Kenwright and Elstone 100% though sadly.
