Barnfred 55
Player Valuation: £80m
And?...and?
And what Dave?
If you think my post needs explaining I pity you.

Kenny is a better defender than Coleman and is comfortable on the ball with the pitch in front of him. He's only 5'8" which is tiny for a central defender, but to counter this he has a great spring on him and is actually very good in the air for his size.Kenny is absolute woefull. Hibberts grand son!
Don't think so because richarlison has been quality so far and already looks one of our best players
If it was a choice between richarlisonor a cb that's different but well sign both anyway
Kenny is a better defender than Coleman.
Richarlison wasn't the alternative attacker to lead the line we need now. There's no contradiction in me saying we need CBs and attacking alternatives. LW was a vanity purchase at this stage. And?

Sorry. But he is. Coleman is not great defensively. He is poor at stopping crosses and not the best one on one. Kenny's back post defending is top drawer. Coleman is still on a different level to Kenny overall though.Ssory fella, this couldn't be further from the truth.
It's been a worry for some time for me. Since the final Martinez season (and prior if I'm honest). Our defensive purchases have been almightly odd since that summer. Koeman espoused an aggressive pressing game, yet proceeded to procure (with Walsh) slow lumbering centre backs who aren't great on the ball. Utterly failed to bring in adequate full back cover either.
For successive seasons we've brought in more players in offensive positions, many who are utter crud. So we still find ourselves buying for further up the pitch whilst still neglecting defence.
Let me remind you of what you said in your postRicharlison wasn't the alternative attacker to lead the line we need now. There's no contradiction in me saying we need CBs and attacking alternatives. LW was a vanity purchase at this stage.
The day before you posted in the transfer thread that buying a striker was more important than buying a central defender. But buying a left winger, who happens IMO to be our best player by an absolute mile, is one of the worst decisions in years.Buying a LW for £40M in a window like this when defence needed sorting badly will go down as one of the worst decisions in years if we dont do a tidy bit of business in the coming says.
I said it can be argued it's our most crucial requirement (an attacker who leads the line...not a wide player). I never once stated CB wasn't a fundamental problem needing to be solved.Let me remind you of what you said in your post

No. But you did say that getting a striker in was more important than getting a defender. Then the following day you say that bringing in a left sided forward, who I am certain can also play centrally, ahead of a defender, is potentially the worst decision in years.I said it can be argued it's our most crucial requirement (an attacker who leads the line...not a wide player). As said: no contradiction in what I've stated in the last 48 hours.

Wide players aren't attackers who lead the line. It's as simple as that.No. But you did say that getting a striker in was more important than getting a defender. If that isn't a contradiction I don't know what is.![]()
