A contemptible man ... but a rare thing by today's standards, a politician prepared to say what they think rather than hide behind "correct" speeches. Not hiding their disagreement.

being completely honest, I like that (even if the views are outrageous). At least you can see what you are/are not voting for rather than the plastic antiseptic politicians of today. Give me a Denis Skinner any day of the week, at least you knew where he (and other outspoken politicos) stood.

Makes you realise how far standards have dropped, a very stern lady that offered no quarter and accepted no grief. Fair minded labour lady. I really do dislike hoyle!

Betty B was such a familiar figure back in the day - like a well-loved soap actress. Indeed she trod the boards as a Tiller Girl at one time.
When she was young I mean.
