If they were paramedics that would have been for her physical health and not a mental health assessment though.

They'd be the first to respond to any 999 call wouldn't they, someone or her has dialled 999 for help and an ambulance has been sent.
"Clinically assessed" by paramedics.

I've only read about it from your post I don't know any more about what contact she had with services.
But if paramedics were called and they had mental health concerns and she was unwilling to attend hospital then they would have notified A&E liaison or CRHT (crisis team) or the appropriate team, it varies from trust to trust.
Then they would have tried to assess her or failing access they would notify the police.
Paramedics aren't qualified to assess someone's mental health for an admission.
Psyche liaison is first point of contact for any patient brought into hospital for mental health concerns here.... A and E staff have nothing to do with them unless there are concerns for physical health. Like you say it varies from trust to trust.

When i was working at Aintree Hospital the psych liaison was an assigned duty of CRHT and not a separate role.
I've worked all over the country and everywhere does things just a little bit differently, i presume mainly to keep you confused by acronyms in meetings.
But anyway i digress you're absolutely right, paramedics and A&E staff are always eager to give over mental health patients as quickly as possible. And rightly so. Just like i quickly pass them over to them when they are bleeding all over the place.

A brave individual.
For a living, I have to distinguish between my own private opinions and the requirement for the law, which as I mentioned is fairly rigid and equally applicable to all.
When I talk about Hitler, I know that he’d be found guilty and yes I personally believe that he is; nevertheless, in reality he isn’t because the law has to be equal.
I am quite adamant about that part for the simple reason that if we diverge due to opinions etc. then it can quite easily lead to a very dangerous situation.
We can't have people wilfully (like the press or the public) choosing to give people extra leeway because of their race, gender, age, sexuality etc etc.
I genuinely feel sorry for the woman as nobody should feel so unhappy that they should feel that suicide is the best options, and part of that is the fault of the press.
However, I do not think it's right to confuse the above with the fact that she was facing criminal charges in the near future: one should not negate the other.
Personally, I may have contradicting thoughts on it all for a number of reasons, still publically she should be treated the same as everyone else.
