Not trying to be smart or contradictory but from what I’ve been told (by survivors of attempts) it’s the time when you are most at peace with yourself as you’ve made the decision and you’re troubles are gone... weird I know but I’ve spoken to lots of people who’ve been ‘that person’ and they mostly all say the same.
Heard the same, an odd thing to hear and I don't know how I feel about it really

Sometimes that's true but everyone's different.

Yeah I get that.... some have told me that they tried during a state of psychosis or when extremely upset they acted impulsively too.

I would count acts during psychosis slightly differently than true suicidal ideation (albeit with the same tragic outcome) as the person is likely not to be in a rational state of mind to make decisions and potentially reacting to perceived threats or command hallucinations.

You're right a lot of people act impulsively, some may experience a sense of peace when they have decided to commit suicide as they don't have to fight anymore. And some people work themselves up into such a state of anxious rumination they can't go on and act.

Everyone's different really, the important thing is for people to talk about how they are feeling and get the support and help they need.
