The undertone to many of the posts here were pointing in that direction. It was a matter of time.

I genuinely hope she/it/he (internet hides their true identity to get away with posts like that) doesn't lose a family member to suicide and mental ill health. It rips the rest of your family apart that's left picking up the pieces. I know
Just leave it mate.My arl fella topped himself in 2013.Time is a healer.

I think that's normal - there are people I've known over the years that have died who I couldn't stand but unless they were absolute scumbags, it's still a bit sad, especially when you consider their families.

Doesn't stop me thinking they were nobs though.
Weird this, saw a photo today of a lad who was in my class at secondary school, used to knock about with him a bit and played for the same footy team, as we got older he became a bad knobhead, got into drugs and burglary, stole all his mums jewellery and sold it all... just loads of scum behaviour. Anyhow, the pic was of him getting married in hospital aided by breathing tubes as he has onlyba very short time to live due to cancer. The pic was sad to see and I do feel gutted for him and his family but it don’t alter the fact he’s been a right scummy knobhead over the years who’s caused a lot of damage and upset.

Bad biff you, Kurtle - you should have been gutted and had a go at anyone online that said anything but nice things about him.

Tbh I don’t think the issue is that you can only say nice things about people.

There is however is a perception that your past can forever define you and that can be a very bad and dangerous message for someone in a dark place emotionally as it tends to lead to a belief that there to a very limited set of options available to them.

People can and have changed, even those who have done some pretty awful things, and even if you are an atheist like myself the concept of redemption and atonement are still valuable philosophies.

God, never heard so much truth on this place before. Now stop talking sense and be edgy.

Yup was watching the macolm x documentary and the guy who killed him had a redemption arc and helped the youth in his community

Rehabilitation is also part of our criminal justice system. If we do not believe that people can be rehabilitated and some way atone for their actions, we have no hope.

I agree with all of that Legs, it just annoys me when 'insert random name' on the internet expects everyone to be grief merchants whenever someone he/she has never met dies and kicks off when they're not.
