Why? I am trying to stress that people must be treated equally and be provided the same rights. Remove the name: was X given the chance to a trial?

Was X found guilty in a court of law? Choosing where the law applies and for who, like @Harryflashman mentioned, is a far more worrying issue for me.

You give everyone the same benefit of the doubt or you don't. My point is that she is innocent, but she should face the same scrutiny as everyone else under the law.

If you're happy to be selective where your rationale applies and for who, would it be okay to treat men differently? Race? I'm not being argumentative, just curious.
What's race got to do with it mate where you off to there.

If people are to be viewed differently under the same circumstances (never went to trial), I would question why. I'm not saying you are, but rather pondering the point.
I'm not pondering anything mate, stop trying to walk me down a path mate.I feel we are finished with Miss Flack and you want something else. It's nice to be nice Philip.

I'm really not and I apologise if it comes across like that.

I was attempting to make the point that it concerns me that people, in general, are sometimes more obliged to give some people the benefit of the doubt...

...whereas under the same circumstances they won't others. Basically, I feel everyone should be given the same liberties regardless. It wasn't a go at you.

Mate a young lady has taken her life obviously under enormous, outside pressure, so yes I will give her the benefit of the doubt but maybe that's just me.I have no doubts about the other names mentioned.I do realise that under our law that is not right but that's up to me live by and I'm happy with that.Do you yourself feel that is a fair opinion?Or is it by the actual letter of the law you live by, and I'm not being funny with you at all.

Fair? No.

Your right to have that opinion? Certainly.

I would say i try to live by the evidence known and presented. And yes if i like the person i would prefer to think of them as innocent in lieu of evidence and a trial sometimes, as is my right.

I think the evidence showed her to be clear cut guilty personally. Doesn't mean i wished her any ill will or this is any kind of warped justice, I dare say with high priced lawyers, the sympathy of public opinion and it being her first offence (that i know of) she could have avoided a custodial sentence. But the tragedy of the situation isn't going to make me ignore common sense with regards to probability.

Mate I've been through all that if it's ok with you I will swerve it now.

I'm not saying it's necessarily right, but crime and death have always been reported in the media, mostly at a local level, but also at a national and international level.

When Joe Bloggs is murdered in your local town, the crime report, the obituries and the coroner's verdict will all be covered in the local newspaper. Been like that for ages, centuries most probably.
