Everyone rightly goes on about Bothams ashes, but that spell of bowling by Bob Willis to take 8 for 43 was superhuman, like a man possessed. RIP Big Bob.

...sad news, legendary English cricketer, Bob Willis, has died aged 70. If I remember rightly, he changed his middle name to his musical hero Bob Dylan.

Concour with these posts, it's always the batsmen who grab the glory and despite an amazing knock by Botham I will never forget Willis like a man possessed storming in with his long run up, he looked like he could take a wicket with every ball.
Sad day, RIP Bob Willis one of England's greatest ever fast bowlers.

...sad news, legendary English cricketer, Bob Willis, has died aged 70. If I remember rightly, he changed his middle name to his musical hero Bob Dylan.

He was a wee bit before my time as a cricket fan, but looking at his stats had a brilliant career. Willis v Lillee in the late 70's / early 80's must have been some battle between opposing fast bowling greats.

...Lillee was truly magnificent. Personally wouldn’t quite put Willis in the same category, but we are talking very top class. Willis was particularly brilliant in the ‘Botham Ashes’ series.

Sad news about Bob Willis. That summer of 81 was when I 1st got in to cricket and still love it to this day. Loved him as a commentator and then as a no nonsense panelist on the debate show. Thanks for the memories Bob
