I saw him as the support act to Norman Wisdom in Bournemouth in 1972, when he was just making a name for himself. I was only eleven, but I remember laughing a lot. I don't think you'd get away with mocking Hitler while wearing shorts and boots these days. RIP Freddie.

Wayne Hennesey? (Couldn't tell if he was wearing shorts).

Don't be silly he hasn't heard anything about Hitler, the Nazi's or World War 2. Which is fair enough as it's not like they did many films or TV shows about it. He was just calling out to the waitress and not to the German who happened to be taking the photo at the time. All seems perfectly above board and reasonable.:Blink:

Comics used to get a laugh dressing as a nazi and strutting about - Spike Milligan comes to mind.

I lived near to Freddie when he lived at Littlewick Green Maidenhead. A story did the rounds at the time that a guy was driving passed Freddie's house when Freddie raced out and waved him down. He asked the guy would he give him a push. Freddie disappeared back into his garden, the guy got out of the car and followed him. When he got in the garden, Freddie was sat on a swing. RIP.
