Flawed genius, always had a mischievous twinkle in his eye, another sad ending, saw him at a couple of games in the past, RIP Freddie, funny, funny guy at his peak....nuts but one of us, Freddie Starr. So remember him in the build up to the ‘84 FA Cup Final.
Wayne Hennesey? (Couldn't tell if he was wearing shorts).I don't think you'd get away with mocking Hitler while wearing shorts and boots these days. RIP Freddie.

Precisely. How silly of me.Don't be silly he hasn't heard anything about Hitler, the Nazi's or World War 2. Which is fair enough as it's not like they did many films or TV shows about it. He was just calling out to the waitress and not to the German who happened to be taking the photo at the time. All seems perfectly above board and reasonable.![]()
That was one of the games I saw him at, he was up in the stands conducting the lads in the terracing below absolutely hilarious.I recall him conducting the Everton fans at the 1980 semi at Villa Park. Very funny guy.
RIP Fred.
That's the one. We were at the opposite to the Holte End. He was at the front of the stand behind us.That was one of the games I saw him at, he was up in the stands conducting the lads in the terracing below absolutely hilarious.
Comics used to get a laugh dressing as a nazi and strutting about - Spike Milligan comes to mind.I saw him as the support act to Norman Wisdom in Bournemouth in 1972, when he was just making a name for himself. I was only eleven, but I remember laughing a lot. I don't think you'd get away with mocking Hitler while wearing shorts and boots these days. RIP Freddie.
He will always be remembered for this
