Ken Kercheval best known for his role as Cliff Barnes on the television series Dallas has died aged 83.

Apparently John Singleton's life support will be switched off today - he is only 51 and had suffered a stroke. Mad that he was nominated for Best Director at the Oscars at the age of 23 (and in a year where there were some fantastic films - JFK, Thelma and Louise, Silence of the Lambs, Bugsy, The Fisher King, Cape Fear).

Youngest nominee for best Director and also first African American I think? Boyz in tha Hood was his first movie after film school. What a debut.
