Is there anyone on GOT who would be happy for their daughters, wives and mothers to leave their homes in a burqa?

Boris Johnson’s words were poorly chosen; somewhat sarcastic and flippant…. But, the Burqa debate is a genuine issue that shouldn’t be swept under the carpet.

How can a non Muslim answer that question?

Yes I agree with the principle that people should be free to wear what they want and that they feel fits with their beliefs, without fear of being ridiculed for doing so.

I imagine you’d have been fully supportive of his comments if he’d have made some equally crass comments about what Hasidic Jews look similar to?

Does it matter? Whether Boris said it or not, whether he meant it or not, it's still a serious issue that transcends UK politics and cheap, opportunistic point scoring.
