My tax situation is very, very straightforward and easy for anyone to work out for my job to the penny so I really wouldn't be that bothered.

I do understand the privacy issue and I'm merely musing after reading recently reading something about how much tax is not collected. The entire system, including the privacy issue allows people to rob us blind and governments (of both colours) seem extremely reluctant to close loopholes and avoidance. They seem reluctant to chase anyone even after huge financial leaks which seems odd to say the least.

As I say, musings and ramblings, but there's something rotten in the state of Denmark, as some bloke once said.

Well we do by the taxman, who takes his cut every day, unless it's hidden and they can't take it at all, must be great being the Chancellor of the Excheqer, or his wife.

….I wouldn’t be so certain, it’s amazing the opinion of some of the electorate.

i remember in the lead up to the last election a barman in Hartlepool saying something along the lines of; “we like Boris, he’s ordinary & just like one of us”. Staggering.

….this saga will hurt lots, though. Those that couldn’t visit elderly or sick relatives, those who lost loved ones & couldn’t attend funerals etc. it needs his own MPs to turn on him & some will, especially if they are in marginal seats & fear for their futures.

As you say, lots of the electorate will still support him as they won’t want a Labour Government but this must ihave an impact. The Local Council results will be interesting.

His constituency of Richmond is bootlicker central. I knew folk from there who had nothing who would still unquestionably vote Tory.

That goes for a big chunk of the south east I think.

I honestly don’t think there’s anything he can do, no low he can sink, that would turn off enough voters

This Tory government has the perfect mix of tribalism, ignorance and apathy it needs in order to win regardless

Politics isn’t about anything other than wanting “your” team to win at any cost now
