Richmond is lovely though. It has to be said.

Like really, really nice.

If you're from there I can see why you might vote Tory.
Yeah Hague was MP there before Sunak. I remember working there and speaking to lads who were proud Tory voters but were skint and didn’t really know what they were voting for, just that it was a given that you voted Tory. Was a bit of a shock as was living in Newcastle, where hardly anyone (openly) admitted voting Tory at that time.
Nice place for sure and had some good times there with good folk.

After (sort of) defending Mrs Sunak's absolute right to legally pay as little tax as possible to the country that supplies her with the house she lives in, I have subsequently found out that she was part owner of Lava Mayfair Club Ltd, a private membership gym, which collapsed last year owing almost £44million to creditors, including £374,000 to HMRC.
Another company of hers, education firm Mrs Wordsmith, went into administration last year owing £16.3million – after receiving a £1.3million loan from the Government's Future Fund.
Another Murty venture, Digme Fitness, which she owns 100% of, received up to £635,000 of furlough money before it closed its eight studios in London and Oxford, still owing HMRC £415,000.

Mr Sunak introduced the furlough scheme, and his wife benefited to the tune of £635,000.
Mr Sunak also oversees the rules regarding non-dom status, and his wife benefits from these to the tune of over £20 million a year.
Mr Sunak is supposed to be in charge of ensuring that the UK maximises its tax take, but his wife has overseen companies going bust owing £789,000 to HMRC.
Mr Sunak also says his wife's tax affairs are none of our business.

Fishi Rishi indeed.

He‘s toast mate. I always had him down as a lightweight, but it’s not the tax that will do him, but the green card …..

…..the assertion that Sunak’s wife pays tax on her earnings in India is not exactly accurate. My understanding is her Non-Dom status means she has 10% tax rate in India rather than at least 40%.

Whatever way you look at this, the arrangement means she pays significantly less tax here and in India.

Where I lived/my parents live is the 2nd safest Tory seat in the country (not particularly loaded, just rural and white), I didn't even really know people voted for other parties until I left at 18

Ok just to clarify: Richmond in Yorkshire is Sunak’s constituency. Ex-forces will know it from Catterick base there. It’s a nice place but has a Tory infestation.
I’ve never been to Richmond on Thames. Reports from here seem to indicate that it is a nice place but is also infested with old tories and (even worse) Lib Dems
Do you think Sunak ever has Wensleydale on one of his many types of bread? He could have one of those Ploughperson lunches.
