Most likely some Labour stayed at home, some gave their vote to the Greens, and more to the LDs.
Some Tories stayed at home, some gave their vote to the LDs, and some gave their vote to shitheads like Martin Daubney.
Certainly wasn't a great might for Labour. It was an absolute calamity for the Tories
Starmer has made no gain but a large percentage of his loss can be attributed to tactical voting. Even Labour would realise that despite Boris sleazing around the place the good citizens of North Staffordshire would never vote for them. Much better in the medium term to have Boris lose and to be seen to lose than for them to try to win the seat.It was a terrible night for Boris, but for all the mud slinging, partygate , etc etc , Starmer has gained no advantage and managed to lose 70% of his voters at the last election, the Tories lost just over 60%.……
Tactical voting is a thing. I wouldn't read too much into this re: Starmer. The results of this election are probably best explained as a 'not Boris' vote than anything else. Most likely some Labour stayed at home, some gave their vote to the Greens, and more to the LDs.
A majority that drops from 80 to a dozen...as is my pick, is still a majorityStarmer has made no gain but a large percentage of his loss can be attributed to tactical voting. But you know this.

Labour voters gave their vote to the lib Dems to get your scummy party out. No way the voters in that constituency were going to vote Labour in one of the safest tory seats. It was expected that the Tories would get a kicking, but why did Labour also get a kicking ?

Keith wouldn't look out of place with a blue rosette anyway.
Tactical voting. I thought your massive intellect would have worked that outIt was expected that the Tories would get a kicking, but why did Labour also get a kicking ?

I normally vote Labour (have voted other left leaning parties in the past), but I'd have probably voted tactically if I lived in Oswestry.
