It’s a mixture I would guess, the Owen Patterson issue will have turned people off, together with Partygate and the current Covid restrictions. The LD’s did very well, but I would be very surprised to see Labour crowing about the result as they lost a higher % of their voters than the Tories did. Anyway, it will all be put through the parties spinning machines and we will hear later….

To lose that seat with that majority at any time is a huge message to any conservative government, what it means at general election time who knows but you’d think the PM will be a little nervous this morning and ringing around his backbenchers .
when those with money do do something its explained away as high jinks and when the working class do it , its almost certainly violent disorder .
it’s a bad result pete , you can talk about how parties don’t matter and you certainly have or that Labour lost more of the vote , you think maybe there could have been a tactical element at play ?

I just hope that when the Tories try and whip up fear/anger against immigrants in the next few weeks to shore up their base, Pete et al don't get upset when Tories are referred to as racists.

It was expected that the Tories would get a kicking, but why did Labour also get a kicking ?
I mean you think perhaps there was a tactical element to take on a 23,000 majority?
Edit - what was a 23,000, now disappeared majority obviously
