A shade under 14 million people voted for the Tories in the 2019 election. It's a bit of a stretch to say "the country" wanted him.

That's the thing. The centre and left is contested by Labour, Welsh and Scottish nationalists, greens and the lib dems. With Scotland now gone to SNP I can't ever envisage Labour winning a majority. Where as the tories have the right /far right sewn up.

Labour need to get smart and make some alliances to get back in.

Despite the result of the last election, more people actually voted for soft brexit/remain parties than they did the tories/brexit party.

Indeed. We have essentially a two party system, but with a number of smaller parties thinking they still play a part.

Yep.
Need to do what they are doing in by elections labour and lib Dems need to stand aside if you have no chance of winning the seat. No point contesting a seat.if you have didly squat chance. Instead of dividing the vote. Give the other a clear run at it.

The whole system needs ripping up and starting again. To do that labour need to get in, then sort it. Especially If Scotland do go there own way. The Tories probs get in all day everyday under the current system.

SNP need.to do one for an election. Maybe labour need to promise them the vote.
