They are too close to the island to swim back. With every disaster that Pete supported Boris through, it became incrementally more difficult for him to accept or point out the obvious. That Boris will go down as the most dithering, corrupt and clueless PM in modern UK history. I agree with this. I would have thought if you believed in Tory values, you’d think by seeing the way he is compromising this message and the Tory party you’d want him out.
Problem is if you’d backed him so far, it is quite a reversal to have to make.
