The simple matter is, there is no "more important thing" to think about than covid. Objectively it is the biggest risk to the uk and as such impacts on every other area that might be "more important". Precisely because it impacts education, justice, nhs, social care, economy; through its capacity to disrupt key services and functions and cause mass casualties. At a time when people were forced to sacrifice, to ensure "more important" things could continue, while many sacrificed against great hardship - unable to see loved ones dying, unable to get life saving treatments, unable to pay rent - arguing now that there are "more important things" to focus on, is pure contempt for the public.when people are saying its a small thing that it doesn't matter when compared to running the country, that is kind of the point isn't it.
I might not agree if they cut money in social care to fund the navy or whatever but it obv has a benefit somewhere. here, they doing such a 'small' unnecessary act that serves no purpose other than them enjoying themselves at that particular moment, which everyone else is banned from doing it. there is no positive thing about it and now with the continued lying. If they admitted it last week or so, it would have all probably been over by now.
genuinely disgraceful
Regardless of feelings towards the royals, compare the imagine of the queen, the head of state, sat alone mourning the death of her husband to the PM spokesperson joking her way through a mock press conference trying to justify the suggestion of a party.
