In October 2017, following the Harvey Weinstein sexual misconduct allegations, a statement was issued in the name of Amess which described the allegations against Weinstein as "dubious to say the least" and quoted Amess as having said that the "sudden flurry of alleged inappropriate advances beggars belief"

Coming out in support of Brexit ahead of the EU referendum, Amess said it was "dangerous" and a "huge mistake" to vote 'remain'.

I've already said the murder wasn't really on.



People, no matter who they are, should be treated fairly and as equals. This man disagreed with that idea as evidenced by his record and speeches in parliament.

Forget his political standpoint or his actions, the man was someone’s son, husband, father, maybe even grandfather for God’s sake. That above all else should matter most, the man went to work ready to meet constituents as per his job and sadly won’t ever be coming home to them because of some low life
