That part of the river has so many crossings as well so it always seemed unnecessary. That said, projects like the Millennium Eye were frowned upon when they were built, yet they've been hugely successful.

To be fair, the concept isn't that daft. We already have pedestrian bridges at Charing Cross and Millennium Bridge, for instance. This is the same, but with a load of plants on it. The problem is that in that 3 mile stretch of river, there are 9 bridges, 7 of which can be crossed by foot. It's just not really needed.

Why is it that you would never hear of a conservative voter saying something similar about Labour. It always seems to be one way traffic for some reason, yet Labour will never regain power unless it learns to love and respect people who currently vote Tory. It's this myopic hatred that turns people away from Labour and many Unions.......
