It was a key promise of Johnson and Gove to reduce gas bills, once upon a time...

If bills do go up as expected and the universal credit cut is maintained there will be a huge amount of households worse off by between £100-£200 a month. Something has to give.

For a self-professed labour supporter, Arminisgod really goes to bat for everything the Tories do. It's almost as if he's a tremendous lying whopper or something

Well on the Marr show this morning they basically said there isn't any gas shortages and won't be this winter either.

So again what is the issue? The CO2 issue is bigger but again I'm not really sure what a government van do about that
Even your favourite rag, The Daily Mail has this:

Soaring bills, empty shelves, used cars that cost MORE than new ones and NO toys for Christmas - how UK faces being crippled by 'perfect storm' of Covid, Brexit and soaring gas prices that will leave families thousands of pounds poorer

Not true. Plenty of things to attack them over, like criminally under funding the NhS for years

Rising gas prices isn't one IMO

It’s quite concerning. It feels like we’re on the cusp of something disastrous.

Im honestly a bit confused. Most of our gas is domestically produced and the rest from Norway
You would be less confused had you spent more than 10 seconds on your Wiki check which shows that the UK is only 53% self sufficient in gas and is therefore vulnerable to market forces and manipulation. What can the government do now? Very little. What should it have been doing? Keeping it’s promises.

Without the right management, possibly mate.

But just like the wfh thing, government will try to protect status quo, rather than use the opportunity to adapt to using less GHG's and less energy resources imo.

Anyway, it's not just us, although Brexit doesn't help, but are other countries going to react by holding on to their resources, and how's that going to us who have focussed almost wholly on the service and financial sectors?

Jive Bunny Michael Gove is now in charge of something called Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities. He's also responsible for preserving the Union.

They just keep laughing full in our faces, don't they?
