The idea of this "reshuffle" is used as a distraction from the policy of removing the £20 increase in universal credit - a Labour amendment not to remove it was voted on at the same time.
Smoke and mirrors yet again. ?

TBF I don’t think it is - the reshuffle certainly looks like the intent is to stuff a government that’s declining a bit at the polls with its most popular members whilst binning it’s least popular.

If that was the case then how did Priti Patel keep her job? I might be wrong but she seems to be universally disliked by most quarters. I get it with that Education guy - he was a total wet blanket, my mum is a former asst head teacher and she hated him, and the other guy the housing one was a bit of a bore

Popular with the RW papers and the party, sadly.

Still the narrative out on street is we are full... Sadly those who were supposed to be looked after for helping us in Afghanistan but got left behind as we scampered away, will now make there way to French coast and look for sanctuary, instead they will get the middle finger and a smirk. Don't trust the British in their Britishness.

Talking about this ^ when the supply chain is crumbling, NHS is struggling, electricity price today maybe *10 last September (short term but shows major issues), government sanctioned dumping of waste in water courses, food isn't being harvested because the industrialised model is failing, and as for gas, from the FT:

High gas prices force closure of two UK fertiliser plants

Soaring gas prices have forced the closure of two fertiliser plants in the north of England in one of the first signs that a global supply crunch could force many energy-intensive industries to scale back activity this winter.
New York-listed fertiliser group CF Industries Holdings is halting production at its plants in Billingham in Teesside and Ince in Cheshire because of high gas prices. It did “not have an estimate for when production will resume at the facilities”, the group said in a statement overnight.
British Gas owner Centrica had warned at the start of the month that a global supply crunch could force heavy industry to curb production in the winter months. UK Steel, a trade body, had also warned this week that some of its members were suspending operations during certain hours of the day when energy prices were “eye-watering”.
