Clare Short was the last minister I recall resigning. In Northern Ireland when Arlene Foster was giving evidence to the RHI inquiry she said that as a minister in government she was responsible for the things that happened in her ministry but not accountable. Most of us just dismissed it as nonsense, little did we know that she was right. Now Westminster has gone one step further and you are neither responsible or accountable for your Ministry or your actions provided you say sorry. I bet you Hancock regrets crying on TV a few months ago, he should have saved that one for this situation.

Could be wrong, but always seemed a decent person Clare Short.
 
Yeah she is sound. My formative boozing days were in her Uncle Paddy’s bar in Crossmaglen.

As for the Tories, delighted to see them exposed yet again. Go Matt!


Does he have B&B rooms above the pub?

We stayed in a B&B in Cross, circa late 90s, and it was a pub.

I often wonder was it Paddy Short’s pub.

We had a great night in the Rangers club :pint2:
