So 5 years after we awoke to the horrific sight of a tower block on fire and 73 lives lost, the bill to protect leaseholders from having to fork out tens of thousands each to make their buildings safe, rather than the owners who should have done it in the first place is voted down by Parliament again. But hey, as long as jolly old BoJo gets his flat done up without dipping into his own pocket...

Credit to the few tory rebels who voted in opposition.

Firstly, he didn't do all of those things singlehandedly, and quite probably didn't have much of a say in many of them at all. Secondly, wasn't the notion of "hero leadership" debunked decades ago?

Of course he didn’t do these things single handedly, he’s a leader not bleeding superman. He sets the vision and empowers people to get on with the job, as they have done...

@Joey66 they're not all the same. You're being played like a fiddle.

It's also notable that the bus is mentioned as a deliberate lie used in the campaign @Old Blue 2 . Not something with the nuance you tried to ascribe to it, but a deliberate lie to manipulate and lead the discourse.

Omg we have left & your still banging on about that .......just tell me would we have had a great vaccination programme linked to the EU ? Answers on a postage stamp - NO - the talking shop of the EU delayed vaccinations, threatened other countries to abide by their slowness in decision making .....
That's why the democratic vote had to be upheld .......give it a few years we will settle down into a prosperous UK .......they are still just being vindictive......end of the EU .......

I fear Brexit dividends will be like Cold Fusion, perpetually 10 years away.

Maybe we lost five years just trying to leave after the vote headed by a a load of Remoaners ....
We are out it will be tough no doubts about it, but @Bruce Wayne diggingi it up again tell me how did a clown like Boris get a 80 seat majority...
Brexit & a poor Labour leader .......the bus was lies by the way .......

I agree I think the tories want him out now. He's served his purpose.

But the average person couldn't care less
Financial common sense would dictate to most people that if they were residing in a rented property where they might only be there for a further 4 years that spending 58K on it is foolish...

How many voters are in a position to spend the equivalent of 14.5K per year on a property they rent... Plays very badly.

The idea that the pm of the UK has to beg borrow and steal to renovate his flat is laughable. Then I remember what he and his party have subjected the children, nurses, teachers, the disabled and basically anyone not earning 80k per year to, over the last ten years and I just think of schadenfreude!

Time to oil the guns again @Bruce Wayne

Like to add free schools dinners to that list, that's until Rashford shamed him.

Reluctance to name the borrower will be because they went on to have a juicy COVID contract or similar.
