Christ, where to start with this:

The Archbishop of Canterbury has urged "forgiveness and compassion" for politicians, amid a row over lobbying.
Justin Welby told the BBC's Political Thinking podcast that morality had more "bite" than it used to in politics.
And he told host Nick Robinson "no 19th Century politician" would survive today's standards "for one week".

Should we feel sympathy that we’ve tightened our standards?
‘No 19th century slave trader would be able to make a living in the 21st century’

Absolute weasel Welby

TBF WE Gladstone used to roam the West End looking for ladies of the evening to “save”, so Welby might not be entirely wrong.

Laughable. Why is he even being asked about stuff like that. Another tory poodle who has made millions from the church and doesn't have to suffer from damaging tory policies.

Being a bit better than the 19th century is hardly a success.

Britain outlawed slavery in the first decade of the 19th century and spent a lot of taxes policing the West African coastline to prevent merchant slavers. Not taking away from your point that standards change over time but by your argument we can't judge people historically by modern standards? Maybe I'm misunderstanding

I was saying that it has no relevance on how we judge today's standards that politicians were more immoral in the 19th Century

Do you think it's a case of sour blue grapes with Cummings releasing his rage onto this terribly written blog ? Do you think it's all true or do you even care and are enjoying this bombshell ?
He supposed to be this big boy of Whitehall but he's as about as threatening as Dennis Thatcher .
Tory rats are as bad as their past pied Pipers .

This time last year Cummings was untouchable. A so called genius by the written press. All the Tory ministers lied for him over the Barnard Castle trip.

Watch them all turn now.
