Would you prefer to be able to say that the Tories have made an arse of the vaccine and its rollout, just to score some small minded political points.....

It's congratulations to people in the companies who created a vaccine. And the much
Conservative government despised, Civil services as in the Medicine Regulator.

Boris Johnson and his chums are just attaching themselves to vaccine because of the right mess they have put the country with their poor management.

They have nothing to do with creating or allowing the vaccine. Thats pharmaceuticals and Civil Service.

20,000 dead was a bad outcome for the UK pandemic. In the UK today we have 87,295 Covid dead, disgusting that number nothing to be boasting about.

So everything bad is the fault of Boris, but his decision not to obtain vaccine via the Eu obtains no credit, ok......

I didnt realise that the UK had always needed to get drug clearance from the EU.

This body that approved the covid jabs is brand new then?

Anyone can obtain a vaccine without EU involvement. Even member states.

Many don't have the sense of urgency as we do due to signicant less death toll.

Should I be eternally thankful to the next habitual drunk idiot who crashes into with me with a van because he stays with me?

Or should my thanks go to fire service for cutting me out or ambulance for stabilising getting me to hospital, the hospital staff, the lawyers courts.

Oh no thank you, drunk idiot, your my hero.

I was stating how their ‘number one in Europe’ rhetoric is small-minded and only appeals to equally small-minded people

The EMA approves new drugs for the EU. Countries within the EU also have their own medical bodies which in exceptional circumstances can apply for permission to do their own thing. The Eu decided that all Eu countries would purchase drugs approved by the EMA and purchased by the EU. The U.K., as it was leaving, decided it would do its own approvals via the MHRA, and purchase its own vaccines. This is why the U.K. has three vaccines approved and the EU were behind the U.K. and indeed still haven’t approved the Oxford vaccine.

The MHRA has been around in its present guise since the early 2000’s......

If they erased 150,000 records, it probably wasn’t actually Patel who did it and I’m pretty sure she didn’t order it done, it could have been (drum roll) a public employee who just happened to make a mistake.

Now if Diane Abbott had been in charge, it still wouldn’t have been her fault, but she would have been telling us it was 15 records or maybe 150 million.......
