If the photo is correct then I imagine someone will shortly be getting their arse kicked......

The catering company involved has come out to defend themselves... "'We have had time to investigate the picture circulated on Twitter. For clarity this shows five days of free school lunches (not ten days) and the charge for food, packing and distribution was actually £10.50 and not £30 as suggested."

Even if Roadsidemum was lying or exaggerating, it's still a pretty dismal selection of food. First and foremost, these food boxes should be designed by nutritionists, not bean-counters.... and include recipe ideas to justify their selection.

It seems as though these meal boxes are being supplied by a variety of outsourced suppliers. Some are doing a better job than others. The government clearly needs to do a better job in monitoring what is being supplied.

The day the Tories tried to shut him up with an honour. Bet they don't know what's bit them with this lad.

Jobs for their friends. Bonuses all-round while kids go hungry.

Pales into insignificance in money disappearing in PPE, they have ripped the country finances off to the tune of billions.
One thing taking advantage of our adults working in health and social workers we make a choice to work in the sector and most know that Tory Governments will only give two hoots in sound bites. But profiteering from hungry children, extremely unpleasant.

While you’re right that the true con, and moving of public finances into their mates’ pockets will be in the billions, it’s often the smaller, emotive stuff that really gets under people’s skin.

Think of the expenses scandal, and it was the stuff like a couple of grand for someone to get their moat cleaned, or the claim for a floating duck island for his garden pond (not allowed, but was claimed), that really incenses people and triggers their sense of unfairness.

I think that it just becomes abstract for people when you start talking in billions. People don't comprehend what an obscene amount of money £1bn is, and how much larger than £1m it is.

Exactly, there’s loads of research been done on this, in terms of engaging people’s empathy.

Show someone a picture of a hungry child, and they give £10, show them a picture of 3 hungry children, and on average they give less than £10. Show them a picture of 1000, they give nothing.

No fan of Morgan, but this is a stone cold slaying of Hancock.

Huge problem with our politicians generally, is they’re incapable of saying “you know what, I got it wrong”.

Government ministers in the past have resigned for less...what a grade A tool is Hancock.

Meanwhile, see Welsh gov. on left. Bet the pimps are loving it.
The one on the right is an absolute joke.

Having said that, if the one on the left is an example of providing for 1 week (presumably 5 days) of lunches for 1 child, then it won't be long before Wales has a very serious obesity problem with children on school meals.

I suspect that this food package is perhaps meant for 2, or perhaps even 3 children. That's if it is actually even an example of a free school meal parcel in the first place.

Where did you source this material from.? or is it something you just threw together yourself?
