You think it doesn't make sense! Would it make more sense to suggest that Putin and co are either not bothered by western strength, a strong EU, and united Britain? Or maybe that Putin wants a stronger EU and strategically and socially unified UK?If they don't then the glaringly obvious is that they will support any areas that threaten this, as mentioned.
If you think that the Kremlin hasn't got, or are not looking to build a stake in any area of influence in western institutions or those opposed to the west, then I would suggest that you are either a tad naive or possibly biased. This hybrid political warfare is most certainly not employed through funding alone.

A Corbyn government would most certainly have invested in Trident and would probably have been more likely to invest for growth in the armed forces and UK defence capability, 100%
Which is a whole load of evidence proving that the point has sailed over your head.
Of course Putin wants to damage us. He’s doing that quite well without ever supporting Corbyn, so to pipe up with rubbish like he wanted Corbyn to win is nonsensical.
Also since you mentioned it, if Trident was ever cancelled we would end up with a far more capable military, not a weaker one.
If they don't then the glaringly obvious is that they will support any areas that threaten this, as mentioned.
