I think we have just witnessed the greatest affirmation that politics have reached an all time low. In past days when a politician/political person was going to tell a lie he/she put some effort into it. Cummings has just told us that he broke the rules but he didn't break the rules. He said he was so concerned for the safety of his child that he put him in car car for a drive when his eyesight was suspect. If he felt his home was under threat why did he return to it.

I think Cummings has Range Rover. How far does a Range Rover go on a full tank. He did make particular reference to who he talked to and that he didn't stop. 270 mile from London to Durham, he went to the hospital to pick his son up despite thinking he had the virus, he also had a 60 mile round trip to check his eyes. A minimum of 600 miles.
I couldn't understand why you would drive 270 miles to get child care and when that child was allowed out of hospital you would go to collect him when you thought you had the virus.

The rabid fanatics trying to accept Cummings excuse as 'valid' and the 'end of the matter' Vs. the ones who still have a modicum of common sense and decency (as much as you can voting for them) actually trying to call it out as the car crash political decision that is is.

Give Boris a week, he'll think of something horrible to get the pressure off Cummings or maybe he'll get lucky and there will be something else to break up the news cycle and this will all be forgotten.
Eventually you get used to it. The shouting goes on deaf ears this will be old news sooner than you think. Pretty soon everyone says #$%^ it I'm going outside too.

Honestly one of the worst performances I’ve seen from a British government that yesterday.
Pure unashamed lies. Even most of their die hard supporters know it. Even the ones that won’t admit, know it.
It’s holding the public with a level of contempt that’s outrageous even by their incredibly low standards.
The Tories are essentially setting the stage that they can do whatever they please and we better just suck it up.
Defending an unelected, unaccountable slime ball... Jesus... every time I think this country is done at rock bottom, out pops another rabbit from the hat.
So I hope you’re all braced for them selling off the NHS when the recession hits proper under the guise of “saving the economy”
Because if you think this is genuinely rock bottom, we may all be in for a shock...

That well known Leftie Julia Hartley Brewer has been calling for Cummings to go, and the usual flag bearing, bulldog avatar accounts on Twitter have turned on her with aplomb. It’s a hilarious read.
As if events weren't damning enough, it now turns out that Cummings is in fact a co-owner of the farm in Durham.
Which begs the question -

I have sheer, unbridled hatred for all of the gremlins coming out to support that cretin saying things like “witch hunt” and “fake news”. I NEVER want to hear any of them EVER clapping the NHS, or speaking about “unelected democrats in the EU” or whining about people breaking lockdown.
We are literally becoming the US with this fake news and “against the establishment” rhetoric that the utter scum who have allowed nearly 40,000 of their own people to die with their negligence have been peddling. Imagine frothing at the mouth to defend a man who wanted to herd immunity that would have killed hundreds of thousands.
