Cummings would have survived the first story but once the follow-up stories came then it doesn't take a genius to know what the score is.

If there isn't massive sustained pressure to get rid of him from the civil service, at least some of the Tory party and the populace then prepare to be totally @#$%ed as a country.

If Cummings stays Boris will be strengthened not weakened. That's why he's sticking by him. Because both know if they can get away w/ it they can get away w/ virtually anything. Really it doesn't take long for complacency to set in among the populace and civil service. This is what happened to America.

Defending the indefensible used to be a mistake in politics, maybe even a resigning issue but the present incumbents, and I am talking across the board, have reduced the art of politics to a level where it is a virtue.
