And that’s fair enough, but to the cosy civil service who then get confronted by a ‘let’s get it done’ minister it will be uncomfortable and even seem like bullying. If it were me they would be screaming blue murder within an hour, but tbh this is exactly what is needed at this point in time.....get shut of him, go down a level or two and promote those who will make things happen.....

Bullying allegations engulfing the home secretary, Priti Patel, have intensified as it emerged that “major run-ins” had forced the resignation of one of her department’s most senior civil servants on immigration.

Union sources have revealed that “uncomfortable” demands by Patel had prompted Mark Thomson, the director general of UK Visas and Immigration and HM Passport Office, to announce his departure just weeks after her appointment.

I'm just amazed that someone who wants to bring back hanging, threatened food shortages in Ireland as leverage for Brexit, disapproves of same-sex marriage, lobbies on behalf of alcohol and tobacco companies and was previously sacked for developing her own foreign policy contrary to that of the government she was part of could be thought of as a potential bully.
