Laurence Fox has accused black and working-class actors of only complaining about bias in the industry after they have become established.

The actor told a podcast presented by the right-wing commentator James Delingpole: "The most annoying thing is the minute a black actor - it's the same with working class actors - the minute they've got five million quid in the bank, every interview they do is about how racism is rampant and rife in the industry.


"And with working class actors, 'There's not enough working class actors'. You weren't saying that when you didn't have a f****** pot to piss in were you?"

Oh this fella is an absolute delight , he’s certainly somebody I’d be seeking to hold up as the voice of reason . Move along Katie , Tommy and Nigel you’ve got some competition.

A lot of it is about Law, standards, taxation, state subsidies and regulations etc. What I took he was saying was that some businesses may have to do a bit more to comply with new EU regulations or paperwork etc, while some businesses selling outside of the EU will not be tied down and can produce goods or services with equivalence to the customer country, and some businesses who only sell within the U.K. will again not have to follow or be held by EU restrictions. This, in many cases will mean an opportunity to buy and sell stuff more cheaply and competitively, while EU countries will not be able to do so. This is why the EU are trying to tie us down to their regulations, a level playing field, because they know that we will hold advantages. He is also right in saying that businesses have already had over 3 years to prepare, plus another year to go. So anyone not ready really have no one else to blame. It’s a business by business, product by product strategy. Some will gain, some will have no difference, some may lose. But any that feel they will lose should be well through with their preparations, so overall the U.K. should gain.

I read that the FCA are processing over 1400 applications for EU finance businesses to locate to the U.K., some of ours will do the same. Each business will have its own plans, they will bitch to the government because they have an opportunity to do so, and some will no doubt use the opportunity to raise prices where they believe they will get away with it

When we voted for Brexit, I readily suggested that we would have some short term pain, but I’m now not even sure that we will suffer that anymore...UK PLC is proving remarkably resilient...

Given that the government have been tight lipped about exactly what they want from negotiations (which is most definitely not so they can present whatever dog's dinner they end up with as a triumph), how on earth can business prepare?
