May is in a right pickle over what she did and didn't know about Patel's 'private' visit to Israel. I wonder how many private individuals can just wander to the Golan heights without having to go through the correct military channels, she wanted to fund these Israel military hospitals.

The Israeli defence forces field hospital that Priti Patel reportedly visited in the summer (see 9.58am) is being run under the auspices of an Israeli military medical aid effort that has assisted both wounded civilians as well as wounded rebel Syrian fighters, some of whom have been accused of being members of jihadi groups fighting the Assad regime.

Complicating Patel’s depiction of her visit to Israel in the summer as a private one was a reply given to a Guardian inquiry regarding her visit to the Golan Heights by an Israeli military spokesman, who strongly suggested Patel’s trip had been organised by the country’s ministry of foreign affairs.

In a text message to the Guardian, Major Jonathan Conricus, asked whether the Israeli military had facilitated the visit, declined to answer. But he added:

She visited Israel. Please refer to the MFA [ministry of foreign affairs] for details, since they organised the visit".

Patel wanted to use British taxpayers money to fund hospitals that treat members of Jihadist groups. Not only should she resign May should go with her.

A right pickle ? I would say she's crashed a lorry loaded with jars of them through the front door of the Haywards factory !

Beginning to wonder now whether Priti Patel is flying back to tender her resignation or to accept Theresa May's.

Beginning to think this affair has the potential to bring the government down.

Did i hear right that Priti was meeting Benji in order to get funds for the IDF in the Golan heights?
One of the several meetings was allegedly about her promising to direct money from her department to an Israeli field hospital which also helps fighter's trying to destabilise Assad. Also, we don't officially recognise the Israeli territorial claims to the Golan Heights. It's an atomic clusterfeck to be sure.

Yep, The Golan Heights are stolen lands, not surprising really.

You have to hand it to Patel she has tried hard to rehearsed her reason for going to Israel 'I was on holiday and paid for it myself'. I wonder if she took her kids and husband to Israel with her and then onward to the Golan Heights?

This bit from the Jewish Chronicle is quite revealing.

"In addition, Prime Minister Theresa May spoke to Ms Patel in advance of the UN General Assembly and they discussed the Development Secretary’s meeting with Mr Netanyahu, as well as the details of Ms Patel’s plan for UK aid to be shared with the Israelis. Mrs May agreed that the idea was sensible but needed sign off from the FCO." May agreed to give aid money to the Israeli military. She is attempting to hang on but the game is up for May.

"Stephen Pollard.

Last night I wrote on the JC site that something didn’t add up about Number Ten’s claim that it had no idea about Priti Patel’s meetings with senior Israelis.

As I put it: “Well before last week's James Landale scoop about Ms Patel's meetings with Israeli politicians, I was told very matter of factly that there would soon be an announcement of cooperation between the UK and Israel over aid in Africa - that we would divert some of our aid money to the Israelis to fund some of their aid work there. I was told that it had been signed off between DfID and Number Ten, but that the FCO had kicked off because it felt its toes were being trodden on.”

After that story went up, I was contacted by two senior and reliable sources.

Both gave exactly the same story: that although Patel had clearly messed up and had to go, the real story was about Number 10.

Far from being unaware, Number 10 knew in full about her meeting with Mr Netanyahu, because Ms Patel had discussed it with the Prime Minister in September, prior to the UN General Assembly.,I then discovered this morning that Number 10 had been told by Ms Patel about her meeting with Israeli foreign office official Yuval Rotem in New York and had specifically asked her not to include it.,It is a truism that with most scandals, the real falloutcomes from the cover up.

My revelations today mean that there are some serious questions for Number 10 to answer about who knew what, when – including the PM".

Wont be long before the men at the 1922 Committee will be getting their dark suits ready, to put the boot into May.
