You have no idea. I have a daughter in law from Romania, another daughter in law who is a descendant of the Cherokee tribe living in the USA, a daughter in law who is a Philippine, grand children and now great grandchildren who are in your language ‘not white’. My kids and family live all over the world, from the USA, Saudi Arabia to the Philippines, so please do not even try to try the racist tag with me……
Wow, Christmas at your place must look like the Village People have popped round.

It's a level of ignorance that's on a frankly astonishing level. Yeah, these people have just been on the pedalo across the [Poor language removed] boating lake you ignorant [Poor language removed].

You and I will never agree regarding illegal immigration, because you are wedded to the idea of completely open borders and allowing anyone who wants to come here to just walk in. I disagree, but there is no need for your obviously removed poor language is there. Is this what you say when you ‘mentor’ asylum seekers, if so it doesn’t really help integration does it….

If anyone is able to walk to our country, they should be welcomed as the second coming.

You sound very ignorant around what illegal immigrations is and what illegal immigrants are (a made up term as no one is an illegal immigrant).

Comparing his grandchildren who likely have British passports (or at least dual citizenship) with access to freely move around the world to people fleeing for their lives and further risking their lives by using people traffickers (due to no other options) is just disgusting.

Fleeing for their lives from the EU, via, Italy, Greece, Spain, France. Which of these countries are threatening their lives ?….

Tory maggots slithering out into the media now they think they've worked out an acceptable way to support the riots. "Honest Bob" Jenrick trying to lock down the GB News Reform-leaning vote by agreeing that two tier policing exists and trying to turn the discussion to Islamist extremism instead.

There are no international laws stating that asylum seekers must seek asylum in the 'nearest safe country'.

In fact, most asylum seekers *do* attempt to settle in the nearest safe country, the UK get very few in the grand scheme of things.

The majority of asylum seekers (I wanna say 70%-80%, but I'd have to check the real figures) are granted asylum in the UK once their application is fully processed. So, the majority are genuine.

The issue we're seeing is a closure of safe and legal routes for migrants to get into this country, resulting in the need for these boats. We have also seen a reduction in funding in legal services (alongside other public services, including health care and education), which has in turn caused a backlog of asylum applications and pressures on our public services.

Where do these poor folk go while they have to sit and wait while their application is processed? They get put up in hotels for example.

Political choices and decisions have led us down the path to the point we are in now: the NHS is struggling to cope, shortage of housing etc, but rather than the ire being directed at the folk who have taken us to this point (whilst they line their pockets), we have the likes of Farage and other knobheads telling us it's the foreigners fault, and people fall for it.

This is part of the legacy of the last 14 years of the Conservatives.

Excellent post Titus.

Pete, if I was being persecuted to the point of fearing for my life here, let's say or my lefty tofu eating guardian reading woke beliefs, I'd look to get either a) somewhere I can speak the language or b) where I've got friends family.

I can't saying truly up for getting in a dinghy to cross into France to then trek to Romania, but I might have to one day if Farage et al come to power.

The wife of a Conservative councillor has been arrested after she called for hotels with asylum seekers to be set on fire.
In a now deleted post on her X account, Lucy Connolly, from Northampton, wrote: “Mass deportation now, set fire to all the f****** hotels full of the b******* for all I care... If that makes me racist, so be it.

Nooo. Stop being too hard on yourself. Of course it doesn't make you a racist.
