You mean you don't prefer the "21st century Presidential" reply that his soon-to-be ten-times successor Trump gave in one of the 2016 debates:?"Not paying taxes? That makes me smart".
I do also recall Trump at the time being asked to illustrate a sacrifice he'd made for the nation. He mentioned starting a company, and employing people.
Beggars belief that these people, who give literally nothing of themselves and just take take take, are hailed as 'patriots' by a significant, yet deluded section of the populace (who are usually the ones forking over the cash like the rest of us).
But, that's the thing - politicians come from society, they are a reflection of it and there is a significant section of populace who think rules are there to be broken. There's no doubt in mind that we are becoming ever more self obsessed, what's-in-it-for-me, you're-stupid-if-you-don't and politicians are an extension of that mindset.
There's an element of Czechs, about 30%, who see former PM, Andrej Babiš, and his numerous fraud charges as something they relate to, something that demonstrates his superior wiles and acumen. It's how they would act in his position, EU giving away money, I would be stupid not to embezzle it and then lie or else someone else will do it.
It's the Tory mindset, if I don't pinch this then it'll end up in someone else's pocket or worse, school lunches for kids or some woke nonsense. You can't imagine the pessimism, the grim unrelenting selfishness and sense of self entitlement it takes to be, or worse, vote Tory.
While I'm on it, Labour need to embrace the hope, celebrate the diversity and strengths of the UK and give people a reason to believe.
