Come on May call the election you know its coming, can't be that difficult against the worst opposition leader ever, you know it makes sense! ;)

Would an election require a lengthy extension to Article 50? European elections happen pretty soon, and it seems extremely unlikely that there could be a general election AND negotiation with the EU concluded before those European elections.

We are almost there with an extension.

We are almost there with an extension.

It's April 12th if parliament reject May's deal, so we can safely say that an election in the next 10 days is impossible. The alternative is parliament accepts May's deal, in which case the deadline is May 22nd, but it's hard to see why May would call an election if her deal was ultimately approved by parliament.

Apologies if I'm missing something here.

Just can't see Mays deal passing I believe she has accepted that now hence the long cabinet meeting, maybe with something attached but another extension is almost certain or even a revoke, let's have the election.

However with Nick Bowles now gone as the march of BluKip takes control, it's an ironic if the outcome of a referendum which was called mainly to shut up the Tory headbangers resulted in the destruction of the entire party. A party that has always practised divide and conquer, it's most exquisite.
