What is that exactly?Sunak shouldn't be emotionally guilt tripped into saying something that he, and the majority of society doesn't agree with.
Her Father is rightly appalled at him, her Mother met with Starmer. I doubt they are very understanding of sunaks culture war jibes after what their daughter endured.
On a politican playing the odds, thats a terrible sentiment that is entirely in play with the populist era the right wing is pushing further and further. A good politican should do what is morally correct, to the benefit of society and that which protects the vulnerable. The civil rights movement was statistically unpopular in America at one stage, thankfully enough folk didn't 'play the odds'.
He didn't need to say anything. Part of the furore is because of how unnecessary and asanine the 'joke' was, coupled with the insensitivity it's shown.
Apologising for the insensitivity shouldnt be a divisive issue either.
Common decency would have been for neither Sunak to say anything nor Starmer to try and score a political point.I can’t be doing with this gutter level politics…..
No one should have or would have let the wee goblin freak away with such a crass comment
Even if you think there is a debate to be had about trans issues, cracking a weak scripted joke about it knowing that the mother of someone recently murdered due to the issue was watching on, is incredibly insensitive.Exactly.
Sorry to be crass here, but if Sunak had have started screaming at the top of his lungs that Brianna was really a male, and had male genitals, and insisting on seeing the death certificate to check the gender; you’d still have the usual suspects and defenders saying “well biologically speaking, this is factually accurate, and there are only 2…..blah blah blah”.
Hate to be a wet, softy, sensitive liberal but if you can’t show common decency to a recently bereaved mother in the words you choose, you should keep your ‘kin mouth shut.
Deliberately or callously upsetting grieving parents, is barely human behaviour.
She seemed like she was there as a guest of Starmer - he introduced her as attending.Common decency would have been for neither Sunak to say anything nor Starmer to try and score a political point.I can’t be doing with this gutter level politics…..
He just cant help but turn it round to Starmer. She seemed like she was there as a guest of Starmer - he introduced her as attending.
If you invite a guest somewhere and somebody else in attendance insults them, would you stay quiet?

He couldn't let it pass, no-one with a shred of decency could.Probably not…Sunak is an idiot and his mouth runs away with itself. But Starmer raising it just adds to the pain for the poor woman…
I don’t like to see this sort of stuff politicised…no matter who did it……..
