I'd like to see Hancocks gmail account and get a good look at the medical equipment procurement licence given to his pub landlord mate, and all of the other back room deals. In times of national emergency I’m all in favour of swift decisions, the country did it during the Falklands war where the usual bureaucratic processes were bypassed in order to get things done. Similarly for Covid, a national emergency, and people were allowed to move heaven and earth to get things done. I don’t really have a problem with those that had to make these quick and difficult decisions as they would have been crucified had they not. But if people wish to blame someone, blame all of them not just the ones wearing blue, but I wouldn’t blame anyone who did what they honestly believed was in the best interests of the country. Blame the chancers and swindlers who took the country for a ride. I’d rather see HMRC and the treasury chasing them for the return of money and our courts putting a few of them away….

All part of the Tories scorched earth policy for Labour to deal with. I hate the Tory Party with every fibre and sinew of my being as they are without doubt the most treacherous unpatriotic scum. Said assets will be sold off cheaply to chums and cronies of Tories...
About as damning an indictment of the Tories as you'll find. This is a decent explanation of why council funding is in such a mess

Some are thick as pig spit, others are tory lackies, and others are bots. Online presence is huge and it all points the same way.I mean, I say the above because I've already seen said thickies on local FB pages blaming the newly elected LibDem led Council in my area for bankrupting it in less than a year.

One of the first things I would do if I were Labour would get to the records of what went on in the covid pandemic , what we spent are money on and who got it before they mysterious disappear like a prime ministers WhatsApp message .I'd like to see Hancocks gmail account and get a good look at the medical equipment procurement licence given to his pub landlord mate, and all of the other back room deals.

Sad to see “it’s because many of them are stuffed with corrupt incompetents” didn’t make that article.
Yes government funding has been cut, yes central government has given out idiotic advice but an awful lot of this is because we have many people doing a lot of graft in a place that only Private Eye and (where we are lucky) committed local hacks and citizens are in a position to notice.
Wrexham for instance spent hundreds of millions to swap two lovely, centrally located indoor markets and a vibrant town centre for *three* slightly out of town shopping experiences, all of which have failed.
