I'm not trying to defend anything, I'm trying to understand. You asked a question to which I don't know the answer. Roydo, who works in this industry, provided his insights, I merely asked what prices were doing in other countries (which may have different ways of delivering mail than we do). If you don't know the answer you only have to say.
You know why the price has risen x3 fella, it's about as classic a case of why Tory privatisation is bad for joe public as it gets.

Sell off state assets, raise the costs of the services so Joe Public pays for all the increases in profits that get dished out to the shareholders and top brass in bonuses.

Look at all the revenue lost from all those once state owned firms from the 80's onwards that the Tories have privatised, all making record profits, revenue that could have gone back into public coffers to pay for the likes of Education and the NHS.

They are the true masters of pulling the wool over the peoples eyes.

A current first class stamp costs 67p, and the cost in other countries has nothing to do with the argument whatsoever.

No one is arguing mate. All I did was provide a few reasons why postal costs could have gone up. You didnt ask if selling it off was a good or bad idea.

Just read this. That its received no attention whatsoever in the wider media is very, very disturbing.

It also explains why Corbyn got so much abuse for suggesting that a better way to deal with the Russians would be to stop them using the City as a place to launder money.
Or lobby our government mate, one of the major Tory reasons for Brexit.

I know personally Merseyside has received a lot of objective one money , Barnsley and Doncaster are in South Yorkshire that I think received over a billion since the 90’s from the same source and whilst I don’t know about Blackburn, Lancashire was one of the top five regions for objective one funding .

So the bonus is at least whilst the tories cut to the bone the EU and objective one money will be there to help the regions through , oh hang on .

Government has lost the legal case regarding the 'hostile environment' Right to Rent scheme from the 2014 Immigration Bill.

The government basically failed to conduct any test for discrimination based or nationality or actually even monitoring the scheme.

The HO tried to suggest that the fault lay with landlords rather than them. That if the pilot was leading to discrimination, it wasn't their fault, it was due to discrimination by landlords. This was rejected

The judgement is scathing about the scheme and the 'hostile environment'.

Given that the government policy has caused significant harm and was effectively engineered to do so, coupled with everything related to Windrush - there should be a public enquiry into it. Especially as we are set to 'take back control of our borders' under Brexit.

A truly awful set of people running this country.

Just having a look round social media and comparing Chris Grayling to Dianne Abbott content threads. It's only ancedotal but pretty systematic. The level criticism Dianne Abbott gets compared to Chris Grayling is astounding, you would be well forgiven thinking that Dianne Abbott had been in government the 5 years or so as minister of state.

Way of the world these days. Like you say, she hasnt been in Government for years, but I bet if 1000 people were asked to name 5 MPs, more would say Abbot than Grayling.

There is no amount of pain that may, cameron or those who cheerlead them can cause that will sate them, they have a hole right through the center of them and nothing will ever fill it

Bath is clear of Novichok say Downing Street.

Reckon we need Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov to give downing Street a geography lesson or two. They are clearly masterminds to compared to what we have!
