My sister lives in the US and we all know how bad politics are over there. She's been over for Christmas and was saying that there's a growing narrative from the right trying to guilt trip people in to having children a lot don't want nor can afford. It's on the rise here, too. Every so often Elon sticks his ore in, most recently at a right wing rally this month, about the need for people to have more children, saying that cultures will be lost etc. Apparently we're at risk of losing Italy, France and Japan altogether.

The Telegraph look to be picking up on this a bit more, having done several articles this year. They've twigged the fact young people can barely afford to feed themselves due to endless austerity is bad for the economy.

A few example articles gives you an idea of where this is heading. Expect messages such as "Put Out to Help Out", and "Conceive More Children!" to appear on Rishi's little podium in due course.

Thank you, I fully understand your inability to have a grown up conversation, and once again for the third or fourth time have raised my wife’s condition while forgetting that it was you who originally brought it up and when called out came up with how you were abused as a child. I appreciate that you’ve raised this many times and I suppose that like many a general, those at the top may take a more open view regarding who to save or let go. Sometimes not everyone can be saved. If it were a choice between me or my kids, or even me or your kids, I’d choose saving the kids. The politicians, scientists and civil service will be judged at some point either while alive or dead, but I just think it obnoxious to paint ordinary people who voted a certain way to be classed in a similar manner. It would be like me blaming you for the deaths brought about by Blairs wars because you voted Labour, it’s stupid.…….

The Iraq War is a wider point and also 20 years ago.

It was a war based on deception, but lets be honest, it was a War that was needed, but again, if you wanna make a thread on it, we can discuss more in that.

But lets be honest, Tony Blair was probably the last decent Leader we had in this country.

This is about the current Government and how their mishandling of the covid era cost thousands and thousands of people their lives, not soldiers, peoples Nans sitting at home, not in a war zone. Why defend them? Why cant you just say "What a bunch of scumbags" and vote them out?

But anyway.
