The Iraq War is a wider point and also 20 years ago.

It was a war based on deception, but lets be honest, it was a War that was needed, but again, if you wanna make a thread on it, we can discuss more in that.

But lets be honest, Tony Blair was probably the last decent Leader we had in this country.

This is about the current Government and how their mishandling of the covid era cost thousands and thousands of people their lives, not soldiers, peoples Nans sitting at home, not in a war zone. Why defend them? Why cant you just say "What a bunch of scumbags" and vote them out?

But anyway.
Cos he's a selfish cnut who had to shut his pub during lockdowns and lose out on some money.

In terms of ‘why defend them’, my friends and drinking buddies are all over the age of 70 or 80. This year we’ve experienced two wives diagnosed with dementia, one lad having multiple operations and now having Parkinson’s disease, one having a tracheostomy with a device in his neck, two diagnosed with lung cancer and one lady who died just two weeks ago overnight with bleeding on the brain. It’s not been a great year to say the least and I can’t wait to see the back of it. Yet all of them, right or wrong, thought that the UK did a good job with Covid. It could be that as we age we look at life a little differently and I can only ever state what I thought, believed and what I heard from others. I understand differences of opinion, it’s what life is about, but it changes with age. I just give you my view as someone who is a little older…….

And you are still an idiot. The only profit we have made was during lockdown when the staff got paid by the government, we were given grants and didn’t have to pay VAT or ‘other costs’…you will not see this of course but your language and assumptions really show how limited in intelligence you are……

Then you are all massively under informed, cos I have no idea how anybody could have studied the covid inquiry and reached a conclusion that they did a good job.

But it sounds like they have had more important things to worry about.

Forgive me I don't mean to nitpick.
blair has been involved with some pretty unsavoury property deals (Panama papers) and the Dr David Kelly thing and the 'sexing up of document' isn't going away. There's a few more minor things on his slate that need addressing, not least the PIF deals or similar in name where hospitals have now been paid for outright three times over for instance. (close to).
Although I wasn't a massive fan of Brown at the time, and I acknowledge his errors, I believe he tried to act as virtuously as he could for the benefit of the nation, the american lead financial crash was no easy crisis to handle for a first in the job, I'm aware of the gold issue, I believe he doesn't collect his prime ministers paycheck yearly, seeing it as a service and an honour, not a means to an easy life (truss), think he got the rough end on the back of some bad moves by blair, and hasn't been sleazed anything like since. Also...

I'd appreciate the thoughts of a few elder statespersons regards the direction and antipathy of current climes that are detrimental to the overall suffering of the many over the few...

You are defending the most corrupt government this country has ever seen.
You are defending the most inept government this country has ever seen.

You defend the worst PM this country has ever seen, to the point of being a laughing stock tbh.

Did you not read or watch any of the findings of the covid enquiry?

I read your stuff on here and it’s clear that you are so deluded and ignorant. You refuse to deal with facts and the damage these rats have inflicted on the U.K. in the last 13 years.

You remind me of my dad. 85 years old, born into absolute poverty, still not got a right lot know. As working class as you will get, but thinks he’s middle class and votes Tory, he ran an ale house FFS 😂 reads the express, you get the picture, probably like looking into a mirror for you.

On a side note, you are a bit of an obnoxious arsehole on here as well, which explains your ill thought out views and the stench of wannabe superiority which reeks in every post you make.
