This is partly why I’ve been delaying starting the process. When I had my life changing injury I was incapacitated and off work for 2 years. I applied for Employee Support Allowance (ESA) but was awarded 0 points. Basically, “you’ve got debilitating hearing issues, but you can still work”. At the time even a gust of wind would cause me pain in my ears.
Ironically, it was my ex employer’s private health insurance (AXA PPP) which got me out of the mire. Their service was impeccable and I had several MRI scans, CAT scans, physio etc. all within weeks jumping the queue of NHS patients. If I’d waited for NHS there’s no way I’d be in the place I am now.
With all this in mind I want to give them as little reason as possible to reject me. I have been advised on how to describe my conditions etc. and it’s going to be very mentally taxing. I’m going to do a deep dive and go through everything. I only want to do that once, and I’d rather have the ASD diagnosis, as this is around a 75% chance of being accepted, and I want as much ‘free’ money as possible from the system I’ve paid in to my whole life.
I am aware that this is exactly how they designed it, the crooks.
