Nah, it's no fun when it's this easyon a platter...
The last time a Labour government took power, they inherited a budget surplus. During a boom period, they turned said surplus into a huge deficit. A deficit that the Conservative Party has tried its best to recover from, and indeed has done a pretty good job, and was close to doing so... and but for Covid, this deficit would probably have been eliminated by now.
The deficit must be eliminated before debt can come down. A lot of people don't know the difference between debt and deficit. That ignorance is taken advantage of by politicians.
I hate saying this, but perhaps, once in a generation, we need a Labour government voted in to remind voters how fiscally irresponsible and useless they really are..

Yeah, well, the Tories just do pestilence (covid deaths circa 150k) and famine (food banks becoming a lifeline for many). Also, a footnote reminder... the previous Labour governent were Warmongers. Far fewer deaths, war and destruction since Blair was ousted.
sadly the best candidate for that job would never get it, which when combined with who did get it says everything about the modern Tory Party
A year they have had to sort this out so lets begin as new academic year starts.

As rubbish a direct answer as it is, can it be laid down like the Greenwich Meridian as a token moment. Just so it's proven possible. No idea
You don’t vote for the PM though, you vote for the party and they choose a leader. She was voted in by Tory members, Sunak was voted in by nobody…….

This whole unelected thing was embarrassing when it was used against Brown and is embarrassing when used against Sunak. No one cares as long as it’s someone they like.
Didn’t stand much of a chance given the calibre of the 5 PMs that proceeded him.No one liked Brown…..let’s be honest he was the pits as a PM…….
