He has said that EU laws on statutory leave and maternity pay as something that should be changed. His views on the how the working class should be 'managed' are Dickensian.

Quite the leap to "he wants them abolished". The bloke is thick as pig poo, like, I doubt most UK employment law has much to do with the EU anyrate. Broad brush worker protection, sure, but the detail of SSP, maternity leave, holidays etc, nah.

Maybe I am wrong.

I think that it is fair to say that he is firmly in the camp that Hands discusses in the article posted in the EU thread.

Dont doubt that for a second.

But you, I think, posted a link that he wants to abolish mat leave, sick pay, etc etc. I just asked if that is actually true.

Deserving of what? A pat on the head from the aristocracy? I’ve a lot more time for those that turn them down.
If that is a reply to my post #21,745, then I consider that your thinking is skewed. Dave is a very self-effacing person, who has worked for decades to put together a fine memorial to all of the young lads who flew and fought for this country in 1940, many of whom, over 500, gave their lives. Given his objective approach to research over the decades, respect is also paid to the young lads on the other side who one day did not live to see another dawn. It is no more complicated than that, and the MBE that he received is simply tangible evidence of the appreciation for the effort he has put in over the decades.

I am of a mind like you, in that I would never accept anything like that, because I have done absolutely nothing to warrant it in the first place, and even if I had, I would refuse it. But for me, Dave is one of those who deserves some recognition for preserving the nation's heritage. That's all...

He’s such a backwards, corrupt freak. Banging the drum of brexit, a campaign he was heavily involved with, and that has seemingly vastly increased his personal wealth via his investment firm

Not aimed at an individual just the entire system. We have a serious issue of kowtowing to authority in this country.
