Not quite Pete mate.

UK is second to USA - 2021 figures - with China third.

EU exports more to UK than it imports.

This doesn't make good reading for UK exporters

Indeed, but the U.K. has identical standards to the EU, identical laws and is half an hour away. Both China and the USA put up barriers to imports while the U.K. attempts to remove trade barriers. Anyway, this approach by the EU towards the U.K., making things as difficult as possible, merely reinforces my view that I do not wish to be part of a group like that…..

Pete, from my perspective, I’m afraid it is you who completely misses the point.

My concern is with the incompetence, dishonesty and ideological addiction of those empowered on behalf of the UK, to implement something as complex and critical as Brexit.

The big European boys did it and ran away ? Your squad of demented, self serving half-wits, promoted, negotiated and agreed the entire enterprise.

The fact that the EU had qualified grown ups in the room, was obvious from the start.

Trusting a habitual liar, that we held all the cards, cake and eat it and all the other drivel he spouted. The buffoon knew nothing about what he was doing, cared even less about the outcome, but saw it as a cause to promote himself into power.

I’m afraid that the phrase, own it, has never been more apt.

The negotiations mostly took place under May with that Eu supporting Ollie civil servant. I’ll grant you that the U.K. got stitched up. The U.K. , I believe, went into the negotiations in a very naive way expecting win/win negotiations while the EU wanted a win/lose result to send a message to any other country thinking of leaving.

Well, it is what it is and we now have a far better understanding of the EU’s approach and intentions. Unfortunately we do not have a government with the vision to look beyond Europe…

In April 2022 the Royal Court of Justice found for Cathy Gardner and Fay Harris. Both lost their Fathers in the Care Homes Scandal

The Court decided that the Government acted unlawfully

I believe this matter must now be followed up and charges of Misconduct in Public Office be considered for those responsible

In order for the CPS to follow this matter up a further Criminal Court Case would be required. This process would need to be via Westminster Magistrates Court.

It should be mentioned that the Government are potentially at risk for the same charges, Misconduct in Public Office, for a number of issues. The Herd Immunity Project, PPE corruption, the Covid Response, Cronyism

His eyesight was working just fine that day eh. Treacherous pig!

But it's not just "anyway" is it. You were completely wrong on your assertion about UK/EU trade.

Just like you saying at least Brexit meant we weren't governed by unaccountable unelected civil servants in Brussels when I've pointed out we are instead/always have had the same thing in the UK.

The EU was never "undemocratic". The UK government always had huge power (probably the only positive thing Maggie Thatcher ever did).

In Brexit the EU was never going to make it easy for the UK. But the gammons accepted that before the referendum (because its obvious) and simply said that they'd need us more than we need them so, essentially, game on.

I’m glad you used the word democratic. The U.K. voted to leave and we have left. Now we just have to make it work and deal with these issues as and when they come up……

David Davies was front and central in the negotiation's, no? Complete twerp (him, not you).

Anyhow, aren't you being a bit disingenuous there my man? May's deal, which you seem to be saying was appalling, could not get through parliament. So Bojo and co rode in to the rescue and promised an 'oven ready' deal that would 'get Brexit done'.

Which was obviously baloney. Brexit is not 'done'. It is still being negotiated. The Johnson deal (let call it this) no doubt contained much of what had gone before but with changes to whatever the more hard Brexit side of the party objected to. And they all signed it off once in power.

I heard someone involved in it all (name escapes me just now) arguing on Radio 4 that the 'oven ready' deal was only every temporary anyway. Oh okay, so you all knowingly lied to the electorate that it was 'oven ready' and Brexit was 'done'.

I'm curious about the new opportunities that the Govt could be developing via these new relationships outside of Europe? Do tell.

So if we're talking democracy don't you see the argument to rip the thing up and re-join the EU? I mean you accept it is a disaster (for whatever reason). A clear majority wants to go back so what's the timeframe on another vote? I'm asking hypothetically of course.

It’s early days, and there is no ‘clear majority’ to return, apart from in the minds of Remainers who have never accepted the result……
