How, precisely, is being cruel to trans teenagers “doing what’s right for the UK” in any meaningful capacity?
What would be “doing what’s right for the UK” is; working with unions to get working people fair pay, not tearing down nurses and ambulance drivers they previously called heroes, clipping the wings of the energy and oil companies, and working to end homelessness and poverty in the UK.
Instead they perpetuate the worst, most bigoted culture wars bs. This is because it takes attention off them lining their own pockets, lining the pockets of their corporate lobbyist overlords, and their general incompetence. Up-to and including crashing the economy with a disaster of a mini budget, and causing tens of thousands of unnecessary deaths with their mishandling of Covid.

In countries where it's law there have been no major problems. So why not just get on with it? Trans folk are harmless and concerned with their own individuality.
Well, because women like to feel safe in women only spaces without the possibility of some bloke wandering about, although to be honest any nutcase with evil intent could easily obtain access to changing rooms etc as things stand now.
But it's the perception of privacy that counts and surely we have to preserve that?
Strurgeon understands this, but there's a political side to it all right now and that has to be foremost in her mind.

Why are people so arsed as to what others want to do? Genuine question, this. Why is it such an outrage that someone who believes they are living in the wrong gender and wants to change, is given the right to do so at the age of 16?
I can imagine it was like this when people first started coming out as gay. Let's give them until the age of 21 before they decide if the feelings they have had towards their own gender since they were young, are just a fragment of their imagination.
Personally, if someone believes they are living as the wrong gender and are suffering as a result of that, they should be given the option to change.

Barely makes any difference to anyone but loads of people will vote Tory on this issue alone. Manufactured outrage and deflection.
It really does seem like madness.
Would love for someone to give me a rational explanation as to what is so bad about it and how it negatively affects their day to day life.
