I just don't get that, Pensioners are amongst the poorest in the land, so why would they vote Tory? Tories look after themselves, rich people, it would be like a Turkey voting for Christmas. But I also think it is totally wrong and cowardly to pick on one section of the electorate ( not you btw) to pick on the old and infirm, easy target eh lads, as you say it will be all ages of the nation who could think that, not just the old.
Again, the notion that pensioners are the poorest members of society is simply not true

With respect, individual anecdotes aren't the play here. As you can see below, older people are more likely to vote Tory than any other age group. They're also more likely to vote than any other age group, which makes them such a powerful constituency to woo for Tories. Indeed, while it's difficult to know with precision, most estimates put the average age of Tory members as around 60 (see second link). So no, it's not an assumption as that is what the data shows us. It would be an assumption to think otherwise.

Where I am from I still strongly disagree, but other more affluent parts of the Country would ring true, but then again other more affluent parts of the Country will probably vote Tory at any age anyway. If you know what I mean. But what is this about, what is it leading to ? Because you think older sections of our nation are more likely to vote tory what do you think should be done with them ?

Put in a bag and drowned.

It seems if older people have the gaul to have savings, or dare I say it own their own homes that is wrong ? Or is it jealousy? I will tell you if I won the lottery tomorrow I would still vote Labour and that will never change.
I own my own home, it took me 25 years to do it I don't feel guilty over it why should I, me and the wife worked long and hard and still are doing it and keeping it. With luck it will be handed over to my kids to help them. Neither of them own their own homes, they both work and my Son still lives with us same for lots of younger people nowadays due to the ridiculous house prices and cost of living. 12 years of tory rule has not helped this at all, if you're looking for culprits blame them, vote them out.
