It's really what this wing of the Tory party has always been about (nasty party).

How one nations and such like wrestle it back is the question, maybe they don't.

People are indoctrinated to sympathise with centre right politics. They want to believe that deep down the Tories are like them or understand them. They want everything to be ok, so they close their eyes and vote with hope, not expectation.

I fully expect the Tories to bin Truss once she has done their bidding - the spending cuts haven't gone away - then claim they "get it" and are "working for you". People, once again, will want to believe. I have them winning the next election too.

The message needs to get out there, this is not what centre right politics looks like, there is a fundamental shift in the Conservative party towards breaking up and selling off all the parts of the state that don't turn a profit or offer some service for them. They don't believe in free at the point of contact healthcare, they don't believe in your fundamental right to dignity in poverty, old age or disability.

I've never liked the Tories, but these are something else.

Threatened the insulated middle classes with this budget. Be it interest rate or run on the pensions, which is temporary saved by BofE.

These Tory voters are now having to walk in the boots of those who normally got the rough end of Tory austerity.

Now it's them having to tread water or sink and it's open rebellion on all things Tory.

I'm always surprised that Marx is seen to be terrible just because of his belief in the inevitability of an socialist economy over capitalism. I believe that capitalism still has a lengthy role to play before it hinders social progress to such a point that it needs replacing if ever. However as a view of seeing struggle between the classes I think it's still a very telling take on events even now.
