He's a clever guy, but it speaks volumes how well educated types, particularly those from Oxbridge, feel they can do these jobs no matter their expertise. When arguably they should be nowhere near.

I know an awful lot of PhDs and even the economics graduates would baulk at thinking they could automatically be the chancellor.

He's a clever guy, but it speaks volumes how well educated types, particularly those from Oxbridge, feel they can do these jobs no matter their expertise. When arguably they should be nowhere near.

Amazing how far you see people go if they believe they are capable of doing any job or starting any business going and are not wracked with self doubt. Usually helps if they have a massive safety net if things hit the fan.

The only thing that might save her is the collective fear of losing their income now rather than in 2 years time.

Hard to cling on to the even now tenuous idea of a mandate to govern without an election if there is another leadership change.

They will be under no illusion of the state of affairs after this coming week. Labours successful conference contrasted with protests and police escorts into conference for them.

You have to ask, what checks and balances are in place to protect us from this kind of corruption. This cannot simply be left to slide like the PPE theft.

There needs to be blue murder. These scumbags need to face a sentence.
