It's painfully ignorant and dangerous. To have someone in that position during a time when it has the potential to become combustible again (not that it's ever properly gone away) is appalling.
She is Secretary of State for Northern Ireland with only one purpose, do not upset the DUP.
It has taken her an age to reduce MLAs pay as they have not been working at their jobs for well over a year and a half. I don't mind that she doesn't understand that nationalists vote nationalist and unionists vote for the union despite the fact it is self explanatory; I do care that she doesn't understand Conservative policy, make work pay.

I'd say it's an essential part of understanding the role.
You would have thought that but the job of this Secretary of State is to ensure the DUP don't vote against the Government.

Starting pistol has gone off in the Tory Party civil war. There'll be a Brexiteer alternative vision/plan for pulling out of the EU soon in answer to their detrators who say they're on the sidleines shouting abuse, and that'll be the base for the leadership battle to come. Effectively there's two Tory Party's and it'll be semi-formalised in the coming weeks.
It's laughable that the media are focussing on a handful of free-market refuseniks in the LP flouting democracy and making a nuisance of themselves for the party leader when there is literraly two Tory armies of 100+ each assembling in battle formation in readiness for the bloodiest civil war ever seen in British politics in modern times.

The last great tumult in the LP was the witch hunt carried out against socialists in the party by the usurping free-marketeers in the 80s/90s.
Oh how I wish I could say the tables are now turned. Unfortunately the LP leadership are still pussyfooting around with it. Maybe that's because they feel that they'll wither away now anyway.
The Tories are now primed and ready for a war for the soul of that party that's been brewing around the issue of Europe for a good four decades.
